Thinking about booking your first boudoir session? First of all—yay! This is such an exciting and empowering experience, and I’m here to make sure you feel completely prepared and comfortable every step of the way. If you’re feeling a little nervous or unsure about what to expect, don’t worry! Here are some helpful do’s and don’ts to keep in mind as you get ready for your session.

The Do’s

1. Do Communicate Your Vision

Before your session, we’ll have a chat about your preferences, style, and comfort level. Do you want something soft and romantic? Bold and dramatic? A mix of both? The more you share with me, the better I can tailor the experience to match your personality and vision.

2. Do Bring a Variety of Outfits

Pack a few options to give yourself flexibility. Lingerie is popular, but don’t feel limited—think oversized sweaters, robes, dresses, or even something meaningful, like your partner’s shirt or your favorite jacket. Choose pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable.

3. Do Hydrate and Rest

Feeling your best starts before the session. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot and try to get a good night’s sleep the night before. You’ll feel more energized and ready to shine.

4. Do Trust the Process

As your photographer, it’s my job to guide you through poses, lighting, and expressions that flatter you. You don’t need to know how to pose or be a model—I’ll be there every step of the way to help you look and feel amazing.

5. Do Relax and Have Fun

Boudoir is all about celebrating you! Let yourself enjoy the experience. Laugh, smile, and let go of any worries about perfection—it’s your unique beauty that we’re capturing, and that’s what makes these photos so special.

The Don’ts

1. Don’t Overthink It

It’s easy to get caught up in insecurities or feel like you need to look a certain way. Trust me—you are beautiful exactly as you are. This session is about embracing your uniqueness, not fitting into anyone else’s idea of beauty.

2. Don’t Skip Eating Beforehand

You’ll want to feel strong and energized during your session, so don’t skip meals! A light, balanced meal beforehand will keep you feeling your best.

3. Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute to Prepare

Take some time to plan your outfits, shave or moisturize (if you want to), and pack your bag in advance. This will help you feel more relaxed and ready on the day of your session.

4. Don’t Be Afraid to Speak Up

If there’s a pose, outfit, or idea that makes you uncomfortable, let me know! Your comfort and confidence are my top priorities. This is your session, and it’s all about you.

5. Don’t Compare Yourself to Others

Every boudoir session is unique because every person is unique. Your photos will reflect your personality, beauty, and energy—so don’t worry about looking like anyone else.
